Hi,
I am having a problem getting SmartPhones (With latest version of Windows
Mobile) to accept SMS messages encoded as 8-bit, UDH.
The exact same SMS message is correctly being processed by phones from
Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens, Motorola, Palm. The only phones that are having
difficulty are WM powered ones (the latest crop from Cingular, the 8125,
3125, etc).
The specific message we are sending is encoded as 8-bit (as opposed to the
more normal 7-bit for plain text messages) and has the UDH header flag set.
The UDH contains a payload that is attempting to control the Voicemail MW
Indicator.
Every WM powered phone displays a message on screen when the SMS is received
indicating that the SMS cannot be displayed.
Is there a known issue with WM that would cause this problem? I am quite
willing to work with someone to identify the issue. I see many people
worldwide complaining about similar issues with WM handling of UDH SMS
messages.
I'd really love to get this problem sorted, as I have a number of customers
who have just upgraded to new phones and they are now having issues.
Regards
Doug
