Not possible to syncronize Outlook and PDA

Hallo!
I try to syncronize my PDA with Outlook. I get connect over USB and the
microsoft tool, that checks activesync, PDA and connection says, that it is
not possible to receive an IP-adress.
The advices from the helping tool and from go.microsoft.com didn't help me
to solve the problem.
What can I do?

What device? It's easier to me more precise with a suggestion with that
info. Did it ever work?

In Settings>Connections>USB to PC there may be a check option "Enable
advanced network functionality". If it's checked, uncheck it and try again,
or the other way round. Might be somewhere slightly different if you have a
different device than I, but the setting is generally there somewhere.
